“But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.” – Jeremiah 1:7

Jeremiah was a prophet of the Lord. He had a heavy task ahead of him – to reveal Judah’s sin and prophesy its destruction – but he also got to experience God’s promise for His people. What is interesting to me is that Jeremiah was called for this mission at a very young age even though he thought his age disqualified him to do the work that God had called him to do. I love the verse in Jeremiah 1:7 where God tells Jeremiah he must not use his youth or inability to speak as excuses not to do His work. God touched Jeremiah’s mouth so that every word he spoke was from the Lord.

This reminds me of my own experience. I was called by the Lord at a young age and thought that I was not qualified to do this. But at the time of my call to ministry, God taught me two things:

    1. Age does not stop God from using us.
    2. He doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies those whom He calls.

Today I want to encourage you to continue to march towards the calling that God gave you for His work. It doesn’t matter how unqualified you think you are. You are important to the body of Christ.
