We believe that giving is first and foremost an act of worship, whether you’re contributing your time, treasure or talents. Giving draws us closer to God, allows Him to work through us to bless others, and teaches us to put our faith in Him instead of in our wallets. Plus, it’s fun! As the Good Book says, “it’s better to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
Regular giving also provides critical support for our mission. Your tax-deductible gift helps make possible our ministries for children, youth, families and seniors, as well as evangelism and missions efforts to reach our neighbors near and far with the love of God.
Ways to Give
Online. Use the online giving form on this page to give securely to Skyland. Funds will support our day-to-day ministry activities. You can also set up automatic monthly giving through your bank – please contact them for details.
Sunday Giving. We encourage people to give as the Lord leads them – our collection plates are not a fee for admission. “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). During Sunday services, donation envelopes are available in the pews, while collection plates are at the altar. Gifts can be designated for specific purposes; otherwise, they will support our regular ministries.
Special Offerings. Every year, Skyland takes up special offerings to support the ministries of the United Methodist Church. These include offerings for the United Methodist Children’s Home for abused and neglected foster children, Aldersgate Homes to assist people with developmental disabilities, and Wesley Woods to provide charitable care to elderly residents in need.
Amazon Smile. Skyland participates in Amazon Smile, a program through which Amazon donates 0.5% of purchases to your designated charity. To support Skyland while you shop, go to smile.amazon.com, search for “Skyland United Methodist Church” and click Select. Shop as usual and Amazon will automatically donate 0.5% of eligible purchases to Skyland. Note: If you already have an Amazon account, you will use the same account for Amazon Smile. However, you must begin shopping at smile.amazon.com in order to receive donations for Skyland.
Kroger Community Rewards. Attention all Kroger shoppers! You can earn donations for Skyland while filling up your grocery cart – at no additional cost. Simply register your Kroger Plus card at krogercommunityrewards.com and select “Skyland United Methodist Church” from the list of participating organizations. Swipe your Kroger Plus card every time you shop and Skyland will receive a percentage of your purchase!
