Starting Nov. 21, 2021, all people – regardless of vaccination status – may attend church services and activities in person. All other safety protocols will remain in place for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people, including the wearing of masks and social distancing while in the building.

In making this decision, Skyland’s Health and Wellness Committee identified the following contributing factors for lower risk:

  • New cases and positivity rates have remained consistently lower in the Metro Atlanta area.
  • Vaccines have been available for children ages 5 through 11 for the past two weeks.
  • Boosters are being administered to many adults who have received the Moderna, Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccination series. Additionally, both the FDA and CDC have approved expanding boosters to all adults as of last week.

We will continue to monitor COVID trends, but we don’t expect to make any additional changes in our safety protocols until our area consistently maintains a “moderate” level of community transmission or until we experience a significant rise in transmissions. Currently, we remain at the “substantial” level. Skyland will also host our second vaccine clinic on Sunday, Dec. 5 after the 11:00 am service in the Dining Room (12:30 pm to 6:00 pm). Walk-ins are welcome, or you may pre-register by clicking here.

We will continue to live-stream our 11:00 am contemporary service on YouTube. Our Spanish-language service is available on Facebook.
