About Us

Pastor’s Welcome

At Skyland Church we have one goal - to be faithful disciples of Christ. Well, that sounds good (but it’s a bit too religious). That’s what we thought too, so we’re taking a good hard look at ourselves to re-discover what it means to be disciples of Christ in North Atlanta and in the world.

Have you ever considered the question, “What makes a church a church?” I could give you the typical answers: the people, love, God, worship, and you could probably add some answers of your own. The truth is that all of these are correct but no one of them is correct alone. I believe a church is a church when it bridges the gap between the community and God. That sounds ‘churchy’ and it sounds nearly impossible. That of course brings us to another question: “Are we bridging the gap between the Skyland/Brookhaven community and God at Skyland Church?” Yes, and no. Yes, our desire is to reach the nations for Christ - and we don’t have to go very far to do that. No, because there are so many we are missing. It’s virtually impossible because the community is so large and the diversity is so great. We can’t do it, but we know One who can. Fortunately, that One allows us come along for the fun. I invite you to join us for that fun. Join us for the fun of discovering what it means to live life for Christ. Join us for the fun of helping others on this journey.

I invite you to join us on this journey as we get better acquainted with God and with each other. If you’re interested, come, worship, fellowship, and study with us. We need you as much as you need us (and maybe more).

Our Mission

Be Disciples:

At Skyland Church we seek to be disciples in all that we do. In this journey toward discipleship personal relationships are of vital importance. We believe that disciples seek first to be in a meaningful relationship with God and then with each other. As disciples we are called to faithful worship that honors God and deepens our relationship with Him. We are called to grow in wisdom through study and to grow in purpose through service.

Make Disciples:

The Great Commission and the Great Commandment require that disciples make disciples. The people of Skyland Church willfully and eagerly accept this mission and seek to establish relationships with others in hopes of bringing them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
